Miss Zy Dewey...

...has been teaching for over 10 years.  She holds a Masters degree in education, a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.  Zy was first introduced to belly dance by a performance in Balboa Park. 
The lead performer, Meleah, has been her key instructor ever since.  Meleah instilled the need to know the correct history of this beautiful art.  So Zy decided to learn the history of the art of belly dance and has been studying with the pioneer dancer, Jamilla Salimpour and her daughter Suhaila Salimpour at the Suhaila Salimpour Dance School in northern California.  Zy is one of the few that are certified in San Diego at level II status in this intense program.  It is her belief that the best teachers are ones that continue their own education.  So don't be surprised if you see her right next to you in a classroom.

Zy has the knowledge, joy and ability to get you sweating, laughing and having fun learning about an ancient art form of expression.
